mentos and diet coke

storytime! it’s a lazy saturday. after last saturday’s adventures of nearly seeing a woman jump off a bridge and finding bubble tea in the place across from a strip club in an alley in an alley, one might imagine that we couldn’t find anything quite that interesting yet again. wrong!

let’s start again.

it’s a lazy saturday. after taking david shopping and approving his wardrobe of choice, picking out some lovely boxers (featuring crabs, of course), and stumbling across a man in a red halter dress and a naked cowboy on music row, christy and myself decided to go to matt ward’s house to watch the daily show. i wasn’t paying much attention, and was instead browsing the internets. i stumbled across a discussion on an unnamed message board entitled “when you drop mentos into coke…” and the message continued on, asking “is it better to use regular coke, or diet coke?”

i quickly wikipedia’d “mentos” and ended up on “mentos eruption” where i learned about the wonders of dropping a few mentos into a 2-liter of diet coke and watching it erupt. after watching a few youtube videos to become experts on the subject, the three of us raced off to not one, not two, but THREE different stores in search of diet coke and mentos. the mentos were the hard part.

after obtaining the bomb making materials, creating soundtrack for bomb making, and returning to belmont’s campus, we proceeded to explode not one, not two, but three bottles of various diet colas. it was, simply put, awesome. the best part was when we detained some unsuspecting freshmen girls, who ran to the vending machine and bought a diet pepsi, and we all poured it in our mouths and then dropped mentos in.
