LOST…?
10 October, 2007

Kate’s mom: “I asked you what you are doing here”
Kate: “I want to know why you told them what I did to him”
Kate’s mom: “I thought maybe you came because you wanted to say you were sorry”
Kate: “I’m not sorry! He hit you, he treated you like a dog and you –”
Kate’s mom: “You can’t [...]

seasons.
30 May, 2007

it’s a really dark season right now.
i am learning to embrace that for what it is.

beauty and the beast
3 May, 2007

an interesting observation – both yesterday and today, i didn’t wear any makeup… which evokes much response from my coworkers, apparently. “are you sick? you look sick.” “are you tired? you really should sleep more!” and more and more. i’m going to wear makeup tomorrow and i am sure i will have more do-gooders excited [...]

I apologize in advance…
4 March, 2007

There was recently a really interesting article on Relevantmagazine.com entitled “Messy” that I felt I could have written. Apparently, so did a large number of the commenters. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in my guilt-ridden perfectionism.
Here is a good story for you. Once upon a time we bowled in the hallways of EMI.

This [...]

birdcage’d.
22 February, 2007

Feeling all cagey, as of late. I haven’t left Nashville in a long time – or rather, the only times I’ve left have been to go straight back to the 757 and rush around madly for a few days until I jump back in my car and drive another 12 hours back here. And I [...]

it’s christmastime in the city
16 December, 2006

I’m about to go back through some old unfinished drafts and maybe finish them, maybe. However, for now I will bring you what is likely my last blog entry of 2006… because we all know I don’t update this thing. So I bring you… A Christmas Greeting From Me To You.
Attractive, I know.
I don’t have [...]

happy halloween
31 October, 2006

Did you know…
When I was younger, I was not allowed to celebrate Halloween?
I went to the Hallelujah party instead?
I’ve never been trick-or-treating?
One year I dressed up as a Bible?
The same year, my brother dressed as Zaccheus and his tree?
My mom locked the doors and closed the blinds and we would turn off the lights so [...]

sufjan stevens at the ryman
12 September, 2006

Probably the closest thing to heaven I’ll ever experience on earth.

rites of passage
4 September, 2006

These weeks seem to be filled with “rites of passage” of sorts. For some reason they feel more significant to me than graduation did, which is sort of funny considering that the $19.50 and 25 minutes in the DMV to get my Tennessee license is a much smaller investment than the four years and unspeakable [...]

maybe it’s okay.
31 August, 2006

“You are exactly the same person you used to be. You haven’t changed so much as a pair of socks in the years I’ve known you. If we’ve grown apart, then I’m the one who’s done the growing. And all I’ve done is changed jobs.”“And hairstyles and clothes and attitude and friends and…”
“That’s not fair, [...]
