This weekend was fantastic, and the fantasticness has spilled over into my Monday. This is a rare and unnatural occurrence, but I’ll take what I can get. To document the greatness:

Learned how to make kombucha, adopted my very own mother culture and started fermenting a 1-gallon batch.
House-hunting with Christy on Saturday brought the lulz. 3 hours of driving around spotting armadillo mailboxes, repeatedly passing the same two frat boys, recognizing people sitting on curbs in 12 south and making up stories about life and the neighbors at each of the houses we passed.
Went to a Preds game with Christy and Molly (and thanks to Molly had amazing free seats). We won in an overtime shootout, and it was a great game. And we also got a super close free parking space. If you live in Nashville you know that this is enough to make a weekend great.
Did a bunch of errands I had been procrastinating on, which made me feel accomplished, which makes me more productive than when I feel like a failure.
Explored a handful of international markets in search of berbere and injera, which I may or may not (we’ll find out soon) have actually procured at A&H Merkato.
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret & Bored To Death.
Found a bright red Bodum french press at Target marked down to $6. I left my Chambord in North Carolina back in September, and oh how I have missed it.
Beautiful fall weather (which, incidentally, is gone this morning).
Mailed a box full of random, hilarious stuff to a friend who may or may not appreciate it.
Wrapped up Sunday night with a giant bonfire, some spiced cider & George Dickel, marshmallows and lots of friends.
Tonight holds margaritas after work, then a quiet evening in, cleaning and making mesir wat and maybe even watching that Netflix movie that’s been sitting on my desk for 2 months.

Today I spilled last night’s cocktail shaker on myself before going to babysit 26 small children at a large Baptist church on Easter Sunday, ate homemade basket cheese while sitting in the sun with friends and a good book for several hours, saw a live bee get tied to a string, went for a pathetically brief run, spoke to my mom, dad and grandma on the phone and doused my entire home in bleach while dancing around listening to one of my favorite albums that is free on noisetrade until this Tuesday. Now I will settle in with a giant stack of overdue library books and instead of dreading Monday, I will just be thankful for Sundays like this.
